    Weather:  Mild climate with no drastic extremes in temperature.  However, during autumn and spring, berg winds, accompanied with high temperatures, are often experienced. Winters are seldom extremely cold, with frost never being recorded at the weather stations Ideal holiday weather is experienced from January to March and can even stretch beyond. Although many complain about the wind, it is an asset to keep our climate temperate and to remove air pollutants from the area.

Bluewater Bay

Private game reserves which we can recommend are Cantu Private Game Reserve near the historical settler village of Sidbury and Kariega Game Reserve near the Bushman's River, ideal for all forms of game viewing, walks, trails and birding in safe environments.

The Gamtoos-Baviaanskloof area is a treasure chest of scenic views as well as interesting and noteworthy landmarks, situated in the south western corner of the Eastern Cape.

 

In consists of a large variety of eco-tourism areas. It boasts one of the largest conservation areas (175 000 hectares) with more than 1200 plant species including 17 species of proteas, 58 types of mammals, 293 types of birds and 11 types of freshwater fish.

The Nelson Mandela Bay offers unequalled beach & deep sea conditions for all water sport enthusiasts.

Board sailing

The Nelson Mandela Bay and surrounds provide the best protected boardsailing conditions in the world. The area is excellent for bay and river sailing, as well as top quality wave-riding and jumping.

Diving

The protected waters of Algoa Bay provide scuba-divers with a diverse range of dive sites. A number of recognized diving schools offer a full range of scuba instruction as well as charters and hiring of diving equipment.

Fishing

Surf, rock and deep-sea angling opportunities are endless along the beautiful Nelson Mandela Bay coastline. The "dolosse" scattered around the bay area and the harbour breakwater are fabulous angling-sites for novices and children.

Sailing

The Bay is world renowned in sailing circles. The Redhouse and Swartkops Yacht Clubs offer safe, protected river sailing. PE Beach Yacht Club is at Hobie Beach and, for the deep keel enthusiasts, the Algoa Bay Yacht Club is in the harbour.
